One of the most influential companies in the investment and property management area, Qatari Diar, will invest 250 million eur in hotel complex construction, at the Plavi Horizonti location in Tivat, company officials announced.

They unveiled plans, at a press conference, for a luxury tourist complex on the Blue Horizon site, which will make this project one of the largest direct foreign investments in tourism in Montenegro.

"Complex in Blue Horizon site will occupy an area of 24 hectares, and Qatari Diar plans to build a luxury tourist complex with five stars, in Mediterranean architectural style" the company said.

The complex will include hotels, exclusive residential villas, a spa center and other ancillary facilities. Guests will also have access to shops, restaurants, attractive beach club and a large number of various sports terrains.

The complex will have about 100 hotel units, and residential villas and apartments, which will be available for purchase. Luxury resort will greatly enrich the tourist offer of Montenegro and contribute to positioning the country as a high-class tourism destination, the company said.

They added that this is the fourth project that Qatari Diar is building in Europe, excluding Britain, which ranks Tivat alongside Paris and Milan. During the first phase of the project, the company Qatari Diar will invest 42 million eur, of which more than half of the investments have already been realized. Total value of the investment in the luxury complex is 250 million.

The company believes that Montenegro has great potential for tourism development and implementation of this project will support local authorities in the transformation of the high mass tourism, as well as promoting the beauty of the Montenegrin coast around the world.

Qatari Diar has already completed the necessary topographic, geologic, and bathymetric surveys, a detailed study and analysis of vegetation effects on the environment, with special attention to the preservation of natural features and unique locations.

As they added, close cooperation with the local community has been established, as an effort to make the project implementation the mutual interest, primarily through the involvement of local companies as subcontractors.
